A homicide investigation is underway in Surrey after a man was fatally shot in broad daylight at a local business on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n

According to the Surrey Police Service (SPS), frontline officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 3:03 p.m. in the 13000 block of 76 Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and immediately began providing medical assistance until paramedics from B.C. Emergency Health Services arrived.<\/p>\n

Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased.<\/p>\n

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has since assumed conduct of the investigation and is working in partnership with SPS to carry out priority investigative tasks. At this early stage, no arrests have been made and police say there is currently no suspect information available.<\/p>\n

Investigators are now appealing to the public for assistance as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information is urged to contact the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-4448 or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Police have indicated that further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.<\/p>\n
