{"id":32350,"date":"2026-05-05T05:55:39","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T05:55:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/32350\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T05:55:39","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T05:55:39","slug":"cbs-to-relocate-tracker-from-canada-to-la","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/32350\/","title":{"rendered":"CBS to Relocate `Tracker&#8217; from Canada to LA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Production of CBS\u2019 \u201cTracker\u201d will relocate from Canada to Los Angeles for its fourth season after being awarded a $48 million tax credit from the California Film Commission, officials announced Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The state announced the award in March, but the exact project wasn\u2019t identified at the time, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The $48 million credit is the largest award the state commission has provided to a relocating series.<\/p>\n<p>The commission previously awarded $42 million to Prime Video\u2019s \u201cFallout\u201d to move production from New York to Los Angeles for its third season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTracker\u201d is expected to film 176 days in California, employing 250 crew members and 275 actors, according to the film commission. It\u2019s set to begin production in the summer.<\/p>\n<p>L.A. Mayor Karen Bass hailed the decision, adding that \u201cwe\u2019re bringing productions and entertainment jobs back to L.A.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bass, the City Council, and other elected officials advocated for the state to expand its tax credit from $350 million to $700 million last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis comes with overall production in L.A. on the rise for the first time in years,\u201d Bass said in a statement on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, FilmLA reported that film production in the region started seeing \u201cencouraging signs of growth.\u201d A quarterly report for on-location activity found there was a 10.7% increase in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the prior quarter in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>On-location film production activity between January and March totaled 5,121 shoot days, up from the prior quarter\u2019s 4,625, but that still represented a 3.3% decrease from the first quarter of 2025, which saw 5,295 shoot days.<\/p>\n<p>FilmLA is the official film office for the city and county of Los Angeles and other local jurisdictions.<\/p>\n<p>To date, 147 projects have been awarded tax credits through the latest round of the California Film &amp; TV Tax Credit Program.
