Calgary Police Service<\/a>, following a search of Bonner\u2019s Calgary home and law office.<\/p>\nHe is charged with four counts of accessing and storing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, two counts of distributing it and two counts of possessing a firearm without a licence, according to court documents.<\/p>\n
Police say Bonner used Snapchat, with online aliases \u201cjrcbonner\u201d, \u201cwhydoyoucare197\u201d, and \u201cdaddysboi10\u201d, to engage in sexually explicit conversations with multiple youth, believed to have been between 11 and 15 years old.<\/p>\n
ICE says it is trying to identify potential victims and is encouraging anyone with information to contact local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.<\/p>\n
The investigation, which was started by the RCMP\u2019s National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, remains ongoing as ICE completes a forensic analysis on seized computers and electronic devices.<\/p>\n
Bonner was released from custody on several conditions, including being prohibited from having a firearm, and is required to report to a bail supervisor within two business days, be confined to a residence in Alberta approved by his bail supervisor and is forbidden from visiting spaces such as a school, public swimming area, daycare, playground and youth shelter. He is due to appear in court May 7.<\/p>\n
The court has also ordered him not to use social media or electronic devices to access the internet, although he is allowed to use laptops for work, provided he obtains approval from his bail supervisor and refrains from downloading software that would enable anonymous internet use.<\/p>\n
Bonner was also charged with criminal harassment in November after he was accused of threatening a Calgary police officer.<\/p>\n
RCMP alleged the harassment began after an investigation of the accused by Calgary police. The Calgarian then used \u201cdefamatory, anti-law enforcement online content\u201d against a lead investigator of that investigation.<\/p>\n
RCMP allege the man continued to post online content, which devolved into threats and stalking behaviours against the officer.<\/p>\n
