Sophie Gr\u00e9goire Trudeau<\/a> is sharing her wisdom on Mother\u2019s Day<\/a>. In a Sunday post<\/a> featuring a sweet photo of her three kids when they were younger, she opened up about the \u201cimmense task\u201d mothers face.<\/p>\n

\u201cMothering is the act of nurturing, protecting, guiding and emotionally holding another human being \u2014 not only through care and responsibility, but through presence, sacrifice, intuition, tenderness, repair and unconditional love,\u201d she penned in the caption<\/a> to her Instagram post, which included an older snapshot of her posing with her three children \u2014 Xavier, Ella-Grace and Hadrien \u2014 on a boat in front of Rideau Falls in Ottawa.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an immense task and profound relationship. If this is not what you received from your mom, know that you still have the capacity to give it to yourself and others.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gr\u00e9goire Trudeau also included a selfie with her mom, as well as a more recent picture where she\u2019s embracing and posing cheek-to-cheek with her 17-year-old daughter. In the comments section of the post, people shared their love and sent their well-wishes on the special day.<\/p>\n

\u201cBest mama out there,\u201d her 18-year-old son, Xav, wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHappy Mother\u2019s Day, my dear Sophie,\u201d one person shared<\/a>. \u201cYou have great children with you, great upbringing and love. I know it\u2019s not easy, but you are a strong woman.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Not what you received\u2019 hit me,\u201d one person opened up<\/a>. \u201cI appreciate seeing this as it\u2019s rarely mentioned, hard and it\u2019s my experience. Love my daughter so much, and we have a wonderful relationship I am ever grateful for having worked on to change the past.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gr\u00e9goire Trudeau shares her three children with former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau. The two announced they were splitting up in August 2023, after 18 years of marriage. Since July 2025, Trudeau has been romantically linked to pop star Katy Perry<\/a>, and the duo have been open about their love connection<\/a> in recent months.<\/p>\n

Trudeau made his own Mother\u2019s Day post on Sunday, noticeably not mentioning Gr\u00e9goire Trudeau even though they\u2019re co-parenting and were seen celebrating the 2025 holidays together.<\/p>\n

In his post<\/a>, which included an old photo of his parents \u2014 former Canadian prime minister Pierre Trudeau and his wife, Margaret Trudeau \u2014 happily posing with himself and his brother, Alexandre, when they were children.<\/p>\n

\u201cHappy Mother\u2019s Day to all the moms out there,\u201d he penned in his post<\/a>. \u201cI hope your day is filled with love and appreciation.\u201d<\/p>\n
