Police are asking the public for tips following a \u201csuspicious\u201d fire that caused up to $2 million in damage to a home north of Brampton.<\/p>\n
The blaze happened on 6th Line in Amaranth shortly before 5 a.m. on Saturday, the OPP says. The home was vacant when the fire broke out, but police say the flames caused between $1.5 million and $2 million in damage.<\/p>\n
The fire is being investigated by the Dufferin OPP Major Crime Unit with assistance from the Office of the Fire Marshal, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cInvestigators are asking residents in the area to review any available home surveillance, dash camera, or security footage for suspicious persons or vehicles that may have been observed in the area around the time of the incident,\u201d police say.<\/p>\n
Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity, or who may have information related to the fire, is asked to contact the Dufferin OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
