For applications filed online, the processing clock begins at submission. For paper-based applications, it begins once the application is received at the mail intake facility.

Processing times are presented in two forms:

Historical processing times are retrospective measurements based on the time required to finalize 80% of applications within a given category.
Forward-looking processing times are predictive estimates informed by IRCC’s current inventory levels and projected processing output.

Service standards, by contrast, are administrative targets established internally by IRCC. They reflect the department’s objective of processing 80% of applications within a prescribed timeframe, while acknowledging that more complex matters may require additional processing time.

See how competitive your Express Entry profile is

On May 12, Canada’s immigration department published updated processing times for various permanent residence and citizenship application types.…

[2
14361,17,311,1413,18957,1416,7564,6671,18958,18959,7451,4357,18960,18961
post-43278","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-canada","tag-atlantic-immigration-program","tag-canada","tag-canadian-citizenship","tag-canadian-permanent-residence","tag-citizenship-grants","tag-express-entry","tag-family-sponsorship","tag-immigrating-to-canada","tag-ircc-processing-times-may-2026","tag-ircc-wait-times","tag-latest-ircc-processing-times","tag-provincial-nominee-program","tag-quebec-immigration","tag-updated-processing-times
["GET
