Meet the singles<\/p>\n
When Now Toronto approached two men to ask if one would be interested in finding a match, both turned out to be single and ready to mingle.<\/p>\n
First up is Mateo, a Peruvian third-year student at Toronto Metropolitan University. He\u2019s interested in sports, watching tennis, soccer, F1 and listening to music.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Alongside him is his friend, Joao, also a student visiting him from Miami. He likes reading, art, Latin music, anime and fashion.<\/p>\n
Both men are friends from studying in high school together in Lima, Peru.\u00a0<\/p>\n
So who are these men? Joao describes his friend as an interesting man who will always take care of his partner.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s honest, he\u2019s very charismatic, he\u2019s so funny. I would trust my life with him, always,\u201d Mateo told Now Toronto.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Joao agreed he trusts Mateo with his life, too. \u201cHe\u2019s also very trustful and very nice.\u201d<\/p>\n
What\u2019s their dating experience like?<\/p>\n
Mateo has just downloaded Hinge three weeks ago \u2013 and he already wants to swipe left on the app.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThe dating experience here in Toronto is not that good, especially for someone that is international. There\u2019s a lot of barriers,\u201d he told Now Toronto.\u00a0<\/p>\n
For Joao, he hasn\u2019t been on a date since 2023. He\u2019s been living life day-by-day and \u201cmessing around\u201d on trips, he says, so he\u2019s not too aware of Toronto\u2019s dating scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On the hunt for a match<\/p>\n
After learning more about the men and their types, Now Toronto was ready to find them a match. Who knows, they might find a pair of best friends and make this a spicy two-man.\u00a0<\/p>\n
We started walking near the Eaton Centre and talked to a few girls. Unfortunately, many of them were already in relationships.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So we headed all the way near Wellesley and didn\u2019t have much luck.\u00a0<\/p>\n
