Churchill Falls (Government of Newfoundland and Labrador)<\/p>\n

We will find out the provincial government\u2019s take on the tentative deal with Quebec on hydro development in Labrador Tuesday afternoon, but the Liberals are already sounding alarm bells.<\/p>\n

They think that the Wakeham government doesn\u2019t like what\u2019s in the review it ordered, so it is going to keep the panel members in the back room with no opportunity for media to question them.<\/p>\n

Government will release the contents of that review Tuesday afternoon, but Energy Critic Fred Hutton says Premier Wakeham is already going back on his word by preventing contact between media and panel members.<\/p>\n

Hutton says the Premier told the public that he delayed the release of the report, which was in his hands on May 4th, so that the ones who did the review could be in the same room.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey say they want the report to speak for itself so the only conclusion I can reach is that the government isn\u2019t pleased with what the report had to say, and they want to control the spin on the message,\u201d says Hutton.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t see any other reason why these panelists, who we paid a lot of money for to review this report, which has already been reviewed several times, not to come out and answer questions.\u201d<\/p>\n
