{"id":48930,"date":"2026-05-17T12:23:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-17T12:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/48930\/"},"modified":"2026-05-17T12:23:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-17T12:23:14","slug":"weather-event-expected-on-victoria-day-monday-in-southern-ontario","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/48930\/","title":{"rendered":"Weather event expected on Victoria Day Monday in southern Ontario"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Anyone planning to be outside on Monday should prepare for some sudden heat.<\/p>\n<p>Following weeks of mostly cooler temperatures, the forecast is calling for temperatures up to 31 degrees Celsius on Victoria Day (May 18), which may feel closer to 36 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA heat event is expected to begin with daytime highs near 31 degrees Celsius, humidex values near 36, and overnight lows near 20 degrees Celsius,\u201d Environment Canada said in a recent bulletin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTemperatures will likely be cooler for areas near the shore of Lake Erie, Lake St. Clair and Lake Huron.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>High temperatures bring the possibility of heat-related illness, including possible heat stroke.
