There, the two leaders projected a warm rapport and discussed a potential state visit by Xi to Washington in September \u2013 indicating efforts by the rival powers to stabilise fraught ties.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Wang confirmed last week that Xi would visit the US in the autumn, following Trump\u2019s official invitation to meet on September 24.
