{"id":64508,"date":"2026-05-28T10:43:38","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T10:43:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/64508\/"},"modified":"2026-05-28T10:43:38","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T10:43:38","slug":"massive-grocery-store-with-1000-foot-candy-aisle-coming-to-ontario","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/64508\/","title":{"rendered":"Massive grocery store with 1,000-foot candy aisle coming to Ontario"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A giant new international grocery store is coming to the Greater Toronto Area, and it sure doesn&#8217;t look like your typical supermarket stroll.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/foodworldplus.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Food World Plus<\/a> is set to open a massive new 176,000-square-foot store in Mississauga, offering foods from around the world, including the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and South and East Asia, all under one roof.<\/p>\n<p>To give you a better sense of just how big this supermarket will be, it will have a whopping 1,100 parking spots outside.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Food_World_Plus_Food_World_Plus_is_Bringing_the_World_Under_One.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"caption\">A rendering of the grocery store, courtesy of Food World Plus.<\/p>\n<p>There will be an in-store butcher counter offering both Halal and Kosher options, along with plans for what the grocer calls &#8220;the largest seafood, meat and deli departments in the GTA.&#8221;\u00a0In a region already full of big international supermarkets, this is a pretty bold claim.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve ever shopped at places like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogto.com\/grocery\/nations-experience-toronto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Nations Fresh Foods in the Stockyards,<\/a>\u00a0then you already know the GTA is no stranger to monumental multicultural grocers,\u00a0but this one plans to scale\u00a0the concept even further.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, May 26, Food World Plus announced it plans to introduce a fresh juice and sushi bar, a cafe serving hot breakfast, and a gluten-free dessert parlour. A considerable\u00a0health and beauty section with Korean skincare products is also featured in the plans.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most alluring features is the planned 1,000-foot candy-and-chocolate aisle, which may or may not fast-track you to booking a dentist appointment (unapologetically, of course).<\/p>\n<p>There is no official opening date just yet for Food World Plus, but it\u2019s worth keeping an eye on their <a href=\"https:\/\/foodworldplus.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">website<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/foodworld_plus\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram<\/a> for updates.
