{"id":65718,"date":"2026-05-29T03:43:37","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T03:43:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/65718\/"},"modified":"2026-05-29T03:43:37","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T03:43:37","slug":"royal-bank-of-canada-shares-rise-after-quarterly-earnings-top-expectations-ry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/65718\/","title":{"rendered":"Royal Bank of Canada shares rise after quarterly earnings top expectations (RY)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>    <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/canada\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/664f017eea7d49a7b3f86fb79a302309.png\" alt=\"royal bank of canada NEW SIZE \u00a9Peter Glyn\" loading=\"eager\" height=\"439\" width=\"800\" class=\"yf-lglytj  loaded\"\/> royal bank of canada NEW SIZE \u00a9Peter Glyn      <\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">Royal Bank of Canada (NYSE:RY) posted second-quarter results that exceeded analyst expectations, helping lift shares 2.57% in premarket trading as the lender benefited from broad-based strength across its major business divisions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">The bank reported adjusted earnings per share of Cdn$3.90, ahead of analyst estimates of Cdn$3.77.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">Quarterly revenue totaled Cdn$17.45 billion, surpassing the consensus forecast of Cdn$17.15 billion and increasing 11% from Cdn$15.67 billion in the same quarter last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">Adjusted net income climbed 23% year-over-year to Cdn$5.6 billion, supported by strong performance in Capital Markets, higher fee-based revenue from Wealth Management, and increased net interest income within the Personal Banking and Commercial Banking segments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">Total provisions for credit losses declined by Cdn$512 million from the prior-year period to Cdn$912 million.
