We managed 29C (85F) on Thursday, we will reach 31C (88F) Friday, with humidex values pushing 40C. Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms can be expected, as we had Thursday afternoon. How scattered? Well here on Ile Perrot, I measured 20mm of rain in less than 20 minutes on Thursday around 5:30pm, while at the airport only a trace fell.<\/p>\n<p>Overnight temperatures in Montreal remained very warm, dropping only to 21.5C (71F). More showers and storms are possible today, Saturday afternoon and again Sunday. The cold front Sunday afternoon will be strong, with the risk of some severe weather. Beyond that, the weather will become much cooler and certainly less humid into Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday, June 11 &#8211; 7:45AM: The current round of weather watches have expired for Montreal. We have another very muggy morning in the city, with temperatures already in the 20s, and humid readings near 30C (86F). Today will be a repeat of Wednesday as will Friday, with highs close to 30C and humidex readings in the upper 30s. Expect a few breaks but mostly cloudy skies, very warm and humid, with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some storms may be on the strong side, with the main threat being heavy rain and frequent lightning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A brief update on the severe weather in Manitoba and Saskatchewan on Tuesday, the severe tornado near Oxbow, Saskatchewan has been given a rating of EF3, with winds between 218 and 266km\/h. As well hail the size of grapefruits fell near Otterburne, Manitoba. Thousands were left without power, along with extensive wind and flood damage in many areas, see details below. There were dozens of severe weather reports across both provinces.<\/p>\n<p>Previous Post: A few strong thunderstorms are possible late Thursday and again on Friday across Southern Quebec.<\/p>\n<p>A summery airmass will move into southern Quebec through Sunday, with increasing heat and humidity as well as showers and thunderstorms. A warm front will lift across the region on Wednesday, accompanied by showers. Late today, increasing humidity will lead to scattered thunderstorms, some may have heavy rain and gusty winds. High temperatures will remain in the middle 20s Wednesday in Montreal, rising into the upper 20s to near 30C through Saturday. Overnight lows will remain on the warm and muggy side, near 21C (70F).<\/p>\n<p>Cooler air arrives by late Sunday along with more widespread showers and thunderstorms. Highs will drop into the low 20s. Much cooler air will move into southern Quebec early next week, and is showing signs of remaining in place through the end of the month. It was part of a significant severe weather outbreak across Saskatchewan and Manitoba including torrential rain and large hail.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>                                    CBC<\/p>\n<p>Severe Weather in Manitoba<\/p>\n<p>A significant severe weather outbreak occurred on Tuesday afternoon and evening across southeastern Saskatchewan, Southern Manitoba and adjacent North Dakota. In Saskatchewan, a tornadoes were reported at North Portal, Alemeda and Oxbow, with significant damage occuring. Heavy rain and tennis ball size hail was also observed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Storms were more widespread in Manitoba, with tornadoes observed near Ste Anne and Otterburne. Funnel clouds occurred across the Red River Valley. Hail the size of tennis balls fell in numerous locations. Torrential rain fell with the storm cells, causing widespread flash flooding across the southern portions of the province, including Winnipeg. Over 250mm fell in Stonewall, with 117mm at The Forks in Winnipeg. Winds gusted to 94km\/h in the city as well. A peak non-tornado wind gust of 130km\/h was recorded at Dand and Deloraine. Wind and hail damage as well as flash flooding occurred and is still being assessed on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Widespread tornado watches were in effect from Saskatchewan into northwest Ontario on Tuesday.
