A 37-year-old Ottawa woman has become the second person charged with first-degree murder<\/a> and indignity to a body in connection with the death of a Clarence-Rockland man in 2025.<\/p>\n

The Ontario Provincial Police<\/a> announced Friday, June 12, that Jessica St. Michael had been arrested a day earlier with the assistance of the Gatineau Police Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She remained in custody and was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on Friday, a police news release said.<\/p>\n

On June 4, 51-year-old Luc D\u00e9carie of St-Gabriel-de-Brandon, Que., was arrested and also charged with first degree murder and indignity to a body.<\/p>\n

The investigation began May 17, 2025, when officers from the OPP’s Russell County detachment responded to a report of a body discovered in the Ottawa River near Dallaire Street in Clarence-Rockland.<\/p>\n

Post mortem examination identified the victim as Robert Pr\u00e9vost, 63,\u00a0of Clarence-Rockland, who was reported missing in March 2025. His death was ruled a homicide.<\/p>\n

The OPP said the investigation was continuing.<\/p>\n
