The United States is changing its tone and approach in discussions about Russia\u2019s war against Ukraine. This was stated by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney<\/a> during a briefing at the G7 summit, which was broadcast<\/a> by the AP.<\/p>\n

“The discussions reveal a shift in the mindset of the United States and President Trump. It seems to be a tougher and more realistic view\u2014in my opinion\u2014of the situation on the ground and of the war,” Carney said.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the G7 summit, according to Politico, European officials and diplomats feared that Trump would regain control<\/a> over the peace talks, sideline them, and derail their strategy of maximum pressure on Russia.<\/p>\n

At the same time, during the summit on June 16, Trump emphasized that Russia “must reach an agreement”<\/a> to end the war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n
