Toronto dating has a reputation for failing many singles. Terms like situationships and ghosting have been normalized, and FIFA\u2019s arrival was expected to bring lots of new singles ready to mingle. But what about the successful couples in the city? After all, love can still sometimes be found.<\/p>\n
Now Toronto\u2019s introducing a weekly \u201cHow We Met\u201d segment, so for this edition of This is Dating Now, we asked a FIFA Fan Fest couple to tell us their love story.<\/p>\n

\u200bThe Brazilian couple, Guilherme and Rossana C., met eight years ago, and their banter has never stopped.<\/p>\n
How did they first meet?<\/p>\n
The couple met at a \u201cwild\u201d Brazilian party.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re both from Brazil, and there was a lot of drumming and capoeira, so we had the perfect setting for us to meet,\u201d Guilherme told Now Toronto.<\/p>\n
Rossana explained that her friend introduced her to Guilherme.<\/p>\n
\u201cI approached her friend first, but she\u2019s a much older lady, she\u2019s in her 80s,\u201d he joked about her friend\u2019s age. \u201cBut then all of us, all of a sudden, she came back, and then we started talking, and from there it\u2019s history.\u201d<\/p>\n
How do they feel about hot new singles coming for FIFA?<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have German people coming, Malaysian people coming. It\u2019s exciting, but my eyes are on my Brazilian,\u201d Guilherme said.<\/p>\n
The moment was so cute, showing off their banter as Rossana said, \u201cI hope so,\u201d laughed, and hugged him.<\/p>\n
How did they know they were \u201cthe one\u201d for each other?<\/p>\n
Again, the couple does not seem to lack anything in the laughter department.<\/p>\n
Guilherme joked they\u2019re \u201cstill not sure, but we highly believe that we are.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe keep asking ourselves those questions,\u201d Rossana added.<\/p>\n
