Summer is now in full force<\/a>, but parts of Newfoundland will be feeling more like early spring come Tuesday morning as there is a chance of frost.<\/p>\n

Temperatures will be in the single digits, with some locales getting down to near the freezing mark, prompting frost advisories. Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, parts of the Maritimes will be seeing heavy rainfall and embedded thunderstorms on Tuesday. Anywhere from 30-50 mm of rain is possible in the hardest-hit areas.<\/p>\n

Frosty Tuesday morning for parts of the region<\/p>\n

Parts of Newfoundland may wake up to temperatures near the freezing mark to 6 degrees (coolest in low-lying areas) on Tuesday morning under clear skies and calm winds.<\/p>\n

Frost advisory is in effect, including in Corner Brook, Badger, Burgeo, St. Alban\u2019s and the entire Burin Peninsula.<\/p>\n

Advisories are widespread but temperatures at or below the freezing mark are more isolated to inland and valley regions.<\/p>\n

If temperatures fall at or below the freezing mark after the summer solstice, that would be quite rare, with Badger being a notable exception.<\/p>\n

The pattern will change midweek as a warm front lifts first into the Maritimes on Tuesday, and then Newfoundland on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, embedded thunderstorms are possible along with heavy downpours.<\/p>\n

A risk for 30-50 mm of rainfall for the Bay of Fundy and along the south coast of Newfoundland.<\/p>\n

A weaker system will track across the region on Friday with another round of showers. The threat for occasional showers will continue through the weekend with cooler-than-seasonal temperatures.<\/p>\n

Next week should feature near seasonal temperatures with a threat for another system or two as an active pattern continues into the first few days of July.<\/p>\n
