Die kantonalen Richter hatten die gegen diese gesetzliche Bestimmung erhobenen Beschwerden gutgeheissen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph text-standard wrap-break-word text-dark-gray font-thesans w-full\">Im Wesentlichen vertrat das Gericht die Auffassung, dass nur der Bund befugt sei, ein solches Verbot zu erlassen. Der Grosse Rat des Kantons Genf legte daraufhin beim Bundesgericht Beschwerde gegen diesen Entscheid ein. Gleichzeitig beantragte er im Rahmen vorsorglicher Massnahmen die sofortige Anwendung des Gesetzes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph text-standard wrap-break-word text-dark-gray font-thesans w-full\">Das Bundesgericht wertete diesen Antrag als Gesuch um aufschiebende Wirkung und gab ihm statt.
