CF Montreal made another addition to their attack on Monday afternoon, signing Swiss youth international Noah Streit from FC Basel 1893.
The 20-year-old joins the club on a contract for the 2026, 2027, 2027-28 and 2028-29 seasons, with a further club option for the 2029-30 season. FC Basel will retain a percentage of any future transfer fee for the player beyond an undisclosed amount.

Streit joined FC Basel’s youth academy in 2016 from FC Biel-Bienne 1896 in his hometown of Biel, before moving up to the U16 team for the 2020-21 season, and then FC Basel II in 2022-23. With the second team, he scored nine times and added two assists in 53 matches over three seasons, also helping Basel’s U19 team win their league title in 2023-24.
He was most recently on loan at second-division side Neuchâtel Xamax FCS, where he scored twice and provided two assists across 18 appearances, and scoring once in three appearances in the Swiss Cup.
Streit is also a Swiss youth international, representing his country at the U18, U19, U20 and U21 levels, including playing in the UEFA U21 European Championship qualifiers in November.
It was the second move CF Montreal made on Monday, also trading Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty to the New York Red Bulls for Venezuelan midfielder Wiki Carmona.
Last week, goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois was sold to FC Dallas, and winger Dante Sealy was sold to the Colorado Rapids earlier in an offseason full of turnover for Montreal. Matías Cóccaro had his contract mutually terminated in December, while five players — Fernando Álvarez, Alessandro Biello, Bryce Duke, Tom Pearce and Giacomo Vrioni — had their contract options declined.
Joining the club alongside Streit and Carmona so far this offseason are former Vancouver Whitecaps forward Daniel Ríos, former Orlando City defender Dagur Dan Þórhallsson and former Real Salt Lake Brayan Vera. Goalkeeper Samsy Keita and defenders Josh-Duc Nteziryayo and Félix Samson have been signed from the club’s academy, but Samson has been loaned out to FC Cincinnati for the 2026 season with an option to make it permanent. Emil Gazdov is on loan at Bundesliga club FC St. Pauli until June, who also have an option to buy.
Montreal have made a handful of additions on the loan market, retaining Bologna’s Thomas Gillier for another season, as well MLS Cup champion Tomás Avilés from Inter Miami and midfield duo Ivan Losenko (Shakhtar Donetsk) and Iván Jaime (FC Porto).
