New Delhi, July 14(APAC Media): Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has secured a new five-year, multi-million-dollar contract with ABB to manage and modernise the company’s global network operations, expanding a technology partnership that has continued for more than two decades.
Under the agreement, TCS will take responsibility for ABB’s end-to-end global network operations through a network-as-a-service model. The project is part of ABB’s Future Network Model programme, which aims to replace fragmented network systems with a standardised and centrally managed digital infrastructure.
TCS will oversee the design, integration and operation of ABB’s global network environment while coordinating multiple technology vendors. The company will also modernise ABB’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) infrastructure. AI-based monitoring, network orchestration and security capabilities will be used to improve network performance, reliability and compliance across ABB’s operations.
The latest agreement builds on earlier projects between the two companies, including ABB’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) consolidation on SAP and its cloud migration initiatives. ABB, a global electrification and automation company with around 110,000 employees, is continuing to invest in upgrading its digital infrastructure as it expands its global operations.
