Hull City and Ipswich Town transfer target Breel Embolo
Hull City and Ipswich Town have secured promotion to the Premier League, and both are working on reshaping their squad this summer. The two clubs have been after the same player on certain occasions.
Last month, we relayed news from Sweden that Hull City and Ipswich Town have Stoke City goalkeeper Viktor Johansson in their list.
On July 9th, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy of the duo’s interest in Lazio’s Luca Pellegrini.
New target for Hull City and Ipswich Town
Onze Mondial claims the Premier League duo have their sights on Stade Rennais striker Breel Embolo.
The Ligue 1 side invested €13m to sign the Switzerland international from AS Monaco last summer. He finished his debut season with 10 goals and three assists.
Embolo also managed two goals and two assists at the World Cup. The magazine claims his performances have caught Atlanta United’s attention, and they have made him their priority target.
The MLS side are expected to make an offer but have to be wary of the competition from England. Both Hull City and Ipswich Town have expressed interest in the 29-year-old.
Player could be on the move
Onze Mondial claims Breel Embolo ‘could already be packing his bags’ to leave the French club.
The frontman favours a move to the Premier League but won’t be against the idea of joining Atlanta United. His preference between Hull City and Ipswich Town isn’t clear.
Stade Rennais won’t stop him, considering their manager, Franck Haise, recently talked about the need to trim the squad.
“Some players who are leaving can also play, but in any case, I can’t field 29 outfield players, you see there are too many (…). At some point, we’ll need to have 23-24 outfield players rather than 35,” he said.
