SAUGERTIES – Kelton Hall Chubb, 84, born February 17, 1942, in Albany, NY, to the late Ivan and Agnes (Miller) Chubb, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 31, 2026 in Glasco. A faith-filled and kind man, he was predeceased by his son-in-law, Scott Richter, and brother, Richard Seyler. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Anne Sasso; daughters Kimberly Richter, Karen Chubb, and Kelly Mazzuca, all of Saugerties; and grandchildren Thomas Richter, Maya Mazzuca, Brianna Chubb, niece and nephew Laura, Paul Seyler and Chubb Cousins in Buffalo.
In 1964, while in the ROTC, Kelton attended Norwich University, earning a B.A. in Biology Education. He served on active duty from 1964–1967 as a 2nd and then 1st Lieutenant, declined a captain’s promotion that required service in Vietnam, and instead was stationed in Munich, Germany, where he spent two years traveling Europe in his shipped Ford Mustang, including to Barcelona, Spain, and driving the Autobahn into Italy.
Certified to teach organic chemistry in Vermont, he later moved to Glasco, joined the Albany Reserves Control Group, helped to build his own house while becoming a distinguished career as a systems analyst with IBM. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club, Jaycees, American Legion Post #72, the Holy Name Society, and a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church. Throughout his life, he remained deeply committed to his faith, family, health, and especially his beloved wife.
His Funeral Procession will form 9:15 A.M. Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc. It will continue to the St. Joseph’s RC Church for a 10am Funeral Mass. Burial with military honors will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The family would like to thank, Father John Kearney, Hospice, Golden Hill Health Aides, and his private home care, Charmaine for their compassion and support.
