The US Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network has levied a $125mn civil money penalty against UBS Financial Services for its lax anti-money laundering controls. 

It’s the biggest fine FinCen says it has ever levied against a broker-dealer for breaking the Bank Secrecy Act, but it is not the first time that the $172bn bank has been punished.
