Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall on Friday announced the arrest of Geneva County Circuit Clerk Ashley Powell.
Powell was charged with violating the state’s ethics laws by using her official position or office for personal gain. Specifically, the indictment charges Powell with illegally using her position as circuit clerk to pay herself more than $93,000 in public funds.
