GENEVA, Ohio (WJW) — President Donald Trump landed in Northeast Ohio Tuesday to attend the final day of the inaugural Patriot Games. Air Force One was spotted at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport around 4:30 p.m., with the president then being transferred to a helicopter that would take him to Geneva.

The Patriot Games were being held at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, where teenage athletes representing all 50 states are competing in a variety of events.

The competition, which began Sunday, featured one male and one female athlete from each state, ages 14 to 17. Events included football, basketball, soccer and track, along with challenges modeled after the Presidential Fitness Test and a military-style boot camp circuit.

Eight athletes remained in the games by Tuesday.
A total of $250,000 in college scholarships is being awarded to competitors.
Tuesday’s event is closed to the public. The Patriot Games finale began before 7 p.m. with Trump walking in with sports commentator Pat McAfee.
