Girl Guides reached new heights on an overseas adventure packed with glaciers, chocolate, cheese, and teamwork.
A total of 49 girls and 17 leaders from the Budleigh, Exmouth, Exeter, and Plymouth areas had spent almost two years preparing and fundraising for the trip.
During the first week of August, the group travelled to the Swiss Alps, where they stayed in an alpine village.
Their itinerary included trips to cheese and chocolate factories, a glacier, an adventure park, and international guiding and scouting centres.
Everyone also pitched in with daily household chores during their stay.
The group said the experience had helped them learn more about themselves, the world, and how to build a community.
They thanked everyone who supported the trip, with particular thanks given to Devon Clinton Estates (Lord Clinton’s Charitable Trust), Throwleigh Committee, Willand Rovers Football Club, Exmouth Forest School, and Exmouth U3a Quilting Fun Group.
