Alps has partnered with Nuvalaw to provide brokers and their clients with a faster route for resolving insurance disputes.
The MGA said the partnership will use Nuvalaw’s Resolution-as-a-Service process, combining intelligent workflows and artificial intelligence (AI) tools to streamline resolution and arbitration.
The partnership is intended to give brokers greater visibility over disputes involving their clients, with lawyers, insurers, brokers and policyholders able to engage throughout the process.
Alps said this could help brokers secure faster and more proportionate settlements for clients, while supporting regulatory requirements and reducing the delays associated with litigation.
The launch comes as Ministry of Justice Civil Justice Statistics show the average small claim takes 40.6 weeks to reach trial, while multi-track cases face an average delay of 62 weeks.
Alps has already used Nuvalaw’s process to settle a personal injury case within 24 hours.

The MGA said the approach could also reduce costs and claims leakage and improve loss ratios, while allowing claims and legal resources to be focused on more complex cases.
Michelle O’Reilly, managing director at Alps, said: “This announcement could not be timelier, with litigation costs and timelines failing to deliver good outcomes for insurers, brokers, and policyholders alike.
“Arbitration provides a fast and fair route for resolving disputes without the need for unnecessary litigation, especially in cases where the issues are narrow, the evidence is complete, and the costs disproportionate to the sums in dispute.
“It also keeps the best interests of the policyholder front of mind, progressing claims efficiently, transparently, and ensuring they receive damages in full without delay – something that has long eroded trust in the market.
“We’ve already proven the use case with a recent personal injury claim resolved in just 24 hours. Together, Alps and Nuvalaw are building a new approach to resolving disputes through intelligent arbitration.”
