RYAN CLARK’S SON SHINES

Ryan Clark attended Friday’s Jets-Steelers preseason game, but he may not have been rooting for his former team. Wearing his dad hat, Clark watched his son Jordan Clark, who is fighting to make the Jets’ roster. Like his father, Jordan Clark plays safety, and he had a solid game against Pittsburgh. He finished with a game-high six total tackles and also broke up a pass.

CHUBB RETIRES

Cleveland Browns great Nick Chubb announced his retirement Friday evening on Instagram.

“Today’s the day I’ve been avoiding for a while,” the four-time Pro Bowl running back wrote. “I wanted to end my career on a healthy note, along with a winning season, and I was able to do that.”

You can read the full statement below, but Chubb accomplished his goal by playing in all 17 regular-season games last season for the Houston Texans, who beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. That was probably extra sweet for Chubb, who spent most of his NFL career with the Browns.

Mike Tomlin replied to his announcement.

“Congratulations, Mr. Chubb. It was always a pleasure and a challenge to face you. Respect.”
