A driver had to be extricated and transported to the hospital after suffering a medical emergency and driving off the road, striking a tree and rolling over, on Route 12 in Lake Zurich.
The Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department and Lake Zurich Police Department responded around 6:30 a.m. on August 16 to the area of Route 12 and Honey Lake Road in Lake Zurich for a vehicle crash with injuries and entrapment.
Fire crews arrived and reported finding a single-vehicle crash with the car on its roof.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and firefighters worked to extricate him within 15 minutes.
Lake Zurich Deputy Police Chief Colin Gaffney said officers found the rollover crash in the area of Route 12 and Whitney Road near the entrance to Paulus Park.
An investigation showed the red 2019 Chevrolet, driven by a 70-year-old Woodridge man, was traveling northbound on Rand Road.
The driver experienced a medical issue, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle, Gaffney said.

The Chevrolet left the roadway to the east and struck a tree before rolling over and coming to rest on its roof.
Gaffney said paramedics transported the driver to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No other vehicles were involved and the driver was the sole occupant of the Chevrolet.
No citations have been issued yet, Gaffney said.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake Zurich Police Department.
