Repairs underway for water main break on Highway 70 in New Bern

NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – Water service is shut off as crews repair a water main break in New Bern.

It happened near the Country Club Road overpass on Highway 70.

For the next hour, water service will be cut off in Pembroke, Olde Towne, Tram Road, and Batts Hill.

Residents near Pembroke and Olde Towne had reported low water pressure around 2:45 p.m., leading crews to discover the break.

Officials say they are currently assessing damages and will later share the repair completion time.
