Läderach is opening its second B.C. location at CF Pacific Centre on September 5, bringing its glossy slabs of FrischSchoggi, pralines, truffles, and other giftable treats to downtown Vancouver.
To mark opening day, the Swiss chocolatier will hold a ribbon-cutting and hand out chocolate to the first 200 customers.
The new shop centres around Läderach’s signature FrischSchoggi counter, where oversized slabs of fresh chocolate are broken into pieces and sold by weight. Shoppers can mix and match flavours depending on how restrained, or spectacularly unrestrained, they’re feeling.
The lineup will also include single-origin chocolate bars, seasonal collections, and rotating creations such as the brand’s popular milk chocolate Dubai bar.
Läderach has been steadily expanding across North America, with more than 10 new locations planned for 2026. The Pacific Centre shop follows other recent openings in the States, and the company says Calgary is next on its Canadian expansion list, with its first location there expected in 2027.
“We are delighted to expand our presence in British Columbia with our second location in the province at CF Pacific Centre,” said Läderach North America president Warren Dunkelberger in a release.
Founded in Switzerland in 1962, Läderach produces its chocolate in the canton of Glarus, overseeing the process from cocoa bean to finished bar. The family-run company now operates more than 250 shops worldwide, including one in CF Richmond Centre.
For locals, however, the important part is much simpler: there will soon be another place downtown where buying a modest piece of chocolate can very quickly become buying a small bag of it.
