JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Two coastal North Carolina communities are preparing to take steps toward a cure as the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s returns this fall.
Events in Jacksonville and New Bern are among 17 walks scheduled across North Carolina, part of a nationwide effort of more than 600 walks to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.

Registration is open for both local events, and fundraising efforts will continue through the end of December. Organizers encourage participants to register individually or form teams with family, friends, and co-workers at alz.org/Walk.
