NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – The New Bern Bears and the West Craven Eagles took the stage in New Bern on Friday.
New Bern led the series 31-11 going into the evening with West Craven technically only having four wins on the field since 2004.
The Bears were coming off of a victory against Havelock in last weeks Game of the Week, whilst the Eagles were coming off a win against Wilson Prep.
The Bears got to the house first, but the Eagles quickly rivaled it with a kickoff return from Xavier Cuthbertson.
7-7 halfway through the first quarter.
Things quickly escalated, and a halftime score of 21-14.
After a slow second half, the Bears won 34-14.
