Sekou Kone reminded Lausanne of their mistake in their latest game, but Tyler Fredricson has suffered a major setback.
The trajectories of Sekou Kone and Tyler Fredricson are different, as Kone is on loan, while Fredricson has signed for the Ineos-owned club permanently.
Still, Fredricson is worth following for Man Utd fans because United hold a buy-back and a sell-on clause, thereby maintaining control over his future.
The latest game at Lausanne was therefore notable for two reasons – Kone’s statement and Fredricson’s setback.

Lausanne’s results this season haven’t been very good, but Kone has done his own reputation no harm by playing some very good games.
He had started Lausanne’s previous three games, but fell victim to the club’s malaise in their most recent one.
Kone dropped to the bench for the away game at FC Vaduz, and only came off the bench at half-time as Lausanne tried to rectify their mistake.
He promptly took control of the midfield, spraying passes with precision, getting stuck into duels with abandon, and emerging as one of the best players on the pitch by full-time.
Here’s a lowdown of Kone’s performance to hammer home his all-action display despite playing just 45 minutes in a 3-1 loss.

While Kone’s performance has likely reserved a starting spot for himself in the next game, the same can’t be said for Fredricson.
Tyler Fredricson suffers major injury setback
Fredricson was solid and reliable for Man Utd when he played in his debut season, but injuries ultimately took a toll on him.

The script is repeating in Switzerland, as a couple of promising cameos to start his spell at Lausanne have been interrupted by another major injury.
After playing 59 minutes in Lausanne’s last game, Fredricson suffered a broken foot injury that is expected to keep him out of action until at least December.
It continues an unfortunate theme for the youngster, who has already had his momentum sapped on far too many occasions.
Lausanne don’t even play European competitions this season, so the former Man Utd academy star will likely have to fight from underneath to get back into the starting XI.
The trajectories of Kone and Fredricson are different in more ways than one.
