Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi says she is cancer-free after stage 1 cervical cancer diagnosis

  • 2026-09-18

(Gray News) — Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi said she is cancer-free.

She made the announcement in an interview with People published Friday morning.

Polizzi, 38, was diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer just seven months ago. She had a successful hysterectomy on July 31.

“As of right now, I am cancer-free,” she told People. “They got everything out. So, I’m definitely happy that I did it.”

The “Jersey Shore” star said she still suffers from fatigue and is taking things slowly, but she said she is “almost getting back to myself.”

Polizzi said doctors told her there is a chance her cancer could return, so she will need to continue to monitor it with regular follow-ups.

Polizzi said detailing her journey on social media has been a great way to process her diagnosis.

“In the beginning, I felt so alone … So [speaking out] makes me feel like I’m giving a platform to women dealing with the same things that I did. Just a safe place for us women to talk,” she told People. “It just makes it less scary because we’re not the only ones going through it. I needed something like that while I was going through it.”

Polizzi is now partnering with F Cancer, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing early detection and prevention for cancer. She will be hosting an event for F Cancer in Los Angeles next week.
