GENEVA — The City of Geneva Green Committee is partnering with the Town of Geneva Sustainability Committee to sponsor a native plant sale Sept. 26 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Finger Lakes Welcome Center, 35 Lake Front Drive.
Nurseries will be available for consultation about planting your native plant gardens and will offer native perennials, shrubs and trees for sale.
Native plants are crucial to supporting our native pollinators and bird populations. With their extensive root systems, they improve the ability of the soil to infiltrate water, reducing runoff and wet conditions. Their deep roots decrease erosion by anchoring soil.
