GENEVA — A residential housing project on the west side of Seneca Lake has announced the opening of an on-site Model Home & Design Center for prospective buyers to tour.

The site of these future homes overlooks Seneca Lake’s Glass Factory Bay.

“While we have a few exterior touches to complete, we’re super excited to have opened a new Model Home & Design Center, where anyone who’s curious can come by and tour the house, see the options of one- and two-story floorpans and the finishes to choose from,” said Susan Coyne, director of sales and interior design.

The planned housing community, called Bay View, is building the first home on spec, which will be available for sale and completed in the near future, according to a company-issued press release. The other homes will be built on contract.

The project calls for 90 lots. There are currently 29 lots ready for construction. Some lots offer views of woods, while others may provide glimpses of Seneca Lake.

The houses will be fully constructed on-site.

“Stick building offers a more reliable timetable and more finish options to better accommodate today’s home buyer,” said Jeff Curcio, the builder of the project, who is with Rochester-based Design Build Inc. “We’re installing Superior Walls, an upgrade product, in our basements which is favored by home buyers. If conditions are optimal, the entire basement install can be completed in one day.”

Houses will range from 1,250 to 2,500 square feet. All will include a first-floor laundry, a full basement with 9-foot ceilings, and a large egress window. They will have two-car garages and a primary bedroom, private bath, and a tiled, walk-in shower.

The residential community will include the kinds of amenities a desirable neighborhood holds, Coyne said.

The development features sidewalks, ponds, wooded trails, a neighborhood park, lake views, municipal water and sewer services, and fiber-optic internet, according to the press release. Water and power utilities have been installed in the first two of five phases of the development.

The Model Home & Design Center, at 30 Bayview Terrace, is open Tuesday to Thursday from 10:30 to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays by appointment.
