SOLON, OHIO — Nestle USA plans to close its manufacturing facility in Solon by the end of 2027. Production at the facility, which includes Nestle Professional Solutions pouches containing products used by restaurants, hospitals, schools, hotels and convenience stores, will be transferred to Nestle’s plant in Gaffney, SC.

Nestle said the decision to close the Solon facility is part of its effort “to best serve consumers and optimize our network.” Nestle said it gradually will close the Solon location. The decision comes a little more than two years after Nestle laid off 216 employees at the facility.

“Nestle has a long-standing presence in Ohio, with nearly 3,000 employees across seven facilities statewide, including manufacturing operations, R&D, corporate functions, and the broader Solon campus,” the company said. “We will continue to maintain a strong presence in the state as we focus on serving customers and consumers now and into the future.”

Nestle said its broader campus located in Solon is not closing and will continue to house the company’s corporate operations, R&D and certain other businesses.
