The first digital condominium in Sardinia in Selargius (CA) enabled thanks to ABB technologies

In Selargius, on the outskirts of Cagliari, Studio Castello Engineering has created the first digital condominium in Sardinia, thanks to ABB’s Smart Buildings solutions. These include:

DALI-2 smart lighting adjusts to presence and natural light, ensuring that the lights are only turned on when needed.
ABB KNX Mini Premium presence detectors, installed in stairs and shared spaces, avoid energy waste and increase the safety of residents.
To encourage the use of renewable energy, the building’s photovoltaic (PV) system is monitored via a KNX Modbus gateway, which allows real-time visualization of energy production and consumption.
A KNX weather station also provides up-to-date climate data, helping to optimise performance according to outdoor conditions.

All the infrastructure in the complex is managed via the ABB SCU100 controller. The project represents an example of how digitalisation can transform residential life – improving comfort and safety, reducing energy consumption and simplifying building management.
