NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – The New Bern Police Department says an elderly man who was missing yesterday has been found.
Police put out an alert overnight for 87-year-old Charles Dewitt.
Dewitt was last seen yesterday around 11 a.m. in the area of Neuse Boulevard and Health Drive.
UPDATE: At 6:30 this morning, New Bern police said Dewitt was located.
Dewitt was traveling to Greenville, and police say he may be in the Vanceboro area.
Dewitt is 5 feet 8 inches tall, around 150 pounds, with blue eyes and gray hair on the sides of his head and bald on top.
He was last seen wearing a yellow coat with black stripes on the arm, a multicolored brown/tan button-down shirt, tan pants and tan shoes.
Dewitt was also seen using a brown walking cane.
Police say he is driving a 2018 white Kia Sorento with NC license plate HMA-6934.
