The New Bern Fire Department is taking part in Breast Cancer Awareness Month by selling t-shirts and sweatshirts to raise funds for the CarolinaEast Cancer Foundation. The apparel, featuring Rosie the Riveter, aims to spread awareness and support local families affected by cancer.

Johnathon Gaskins, New Bern Fire Marshal, explained the initiative: “We use Breast Cancer Awareness Month because everyone’s familiar with it, and it’s a great opportunity to help the community and give money to the CarolinaEast Cancer Foundation.” He added that the proceeds from each purchase will directly assist local families and programs.

Adult t-shirts are priced between $20 and $22, while hoodies are $40. Children’s shirts are available for $15, and hoodies for $25. The apparel is being sold at the Fire Rescue on Neuse Blvd. from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will also be available at MumFest this weekend.
