Mrs. Geneva Lee Shull Bowles, age 96, of Hudson, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at her home.

Born April 27, 1929 in Watauga County, Geneva was the daughter of the late Walter and Lucy Potter Shull. Geneva loved cooking and going to thrift stores on the hunt for antiques. She lived for her family. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Vernie Manuel; three sons, Johnny Manuel, Steve Manuel and Scott Manuel; a granddaughter, Angelina Manuel; two brothers, Frank Shull and Ray Shull.

Survivors include her granddaughters, Alison Manuel, Meredith Manuel and Watasha Manuel; grandsons, Leon Manuel (wife Jessica) and Clint Manuel (Elizabeth Trivette); her great grandchildren, Annabelle, Emily, Gabby, Eleanor, Lucy, Dylan, Zackary, Lucas and Clarkston; a brother, Jack Shull; two daughters in law, Sherry English (husband Tucker) and Irma Manuel; she is also survived by numerous other relatives.

A celebration of Geneva’s life will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Greer-McElveen Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Whitt officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Howell Cemetery in Todd.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
