GENEVA, N.Y. — On Saturday, just after 7 a.m., the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported stabbing at an apartment on Genesis Way in the Town of Geneva.

When deputies entered the scene, they found the suspect, Corwin L. Coleman, a 57-year-old resident of Geneva, who ran away from the scene, the report says.
The victim was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by ambulance and is said to be in stable condition.
At around 8:30 a.m., Coleman was found walking into a building in Geneva with Geneva police officers and was taken into custody by deputies a few minutes later, deputies say.
Coleman had previously been on parole for robbery. He was charged with assault in the first degree.
He was taken to the Ontario County Jail, awaiting arraignment.
Deputies say the victim and suspect know each other.
