Raleigh police identify the man arrested after he was accused of a stabbing that
left two people injured.
Officers were called just before 9:30 p.m. on Friday to an Exxon EZ Way gas
station on New Bern Avenue for reports of a stabbing. When officers arrived,
police said they found a man who had been stabbed.
Police said the man and witnesses said the stabbing happened on Hillcrest
Drive. According to police, the man was in an altercation and ran to the store
for help.
Just after 10:30 p.m., police were called to another stabbing at the
Extended Stay on Appliance Court. Officers said these two stabbings were
related.
On Monday, police arrested 19-year-old Carlton E. Green Jr. in connection
with both stabbings. He is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly
weapon with the intent to kill or inflict serious injuries and one count of
assault with a deadly weapon.
The WRAL Breaking News Tracker was on the scene and saw several police cars
outside the gas station on New Bern Avenue near Trawick Road.
Police said the investigation is still ongoing.
