GENEVA — A city resident is under arrest following a stabbing incident Saturday morning at the Genesis Way apartment complex in the town.
Corwin L. Coleman, 57, was charged by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office with first-degree assault.
Police responded to a 911 call and found a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Finger Lakes Ambulance took the victim to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where the person was listed in stable condition.
Law enforcement said the suspect, who was identified as Coleman, fled the scene on foot.
About 90 minutes later, Geneva Police Department officers saw Coleman walking into a building in the town and took him into custody.
Coleman, whom police said is on parole for robbery, was taken to the county jail to be arraigned.
Deputies called it an isolated incident, as Coleman and the victim knew each other.
An order of protection will be requested on behalf of the victim.
State Police also assisted in the arrest.
