NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – A natural gas leak shut down a street in downtown New Bern this afternoon.
The city said the 400 block of Pollock Street, between Middle and Hancock, was shut down to all traffic because of the leak.
The leak was under the sidewalk in front of the Civic Theater.
Piedmont Natural Gas crews contained the leak, but the city said they ran into problems finalizing repairs.
The street reopened around 3:30 p.m.
