SWISS is upgrading its fleet with high-speed internet by Starlink as part of a programme piloted by the Lufthansa Group. The goal is to further improve inflight internet access to enable guests to surf the web faster, and, in the future, free of charge. The new offering will be rolled out in stages. Specific details about the upgrade are still being planned by SWISS.

Under a programme piloted by the Lufthansa Group, SWISS is to upgrade its short and long-haul fleet with high-speed internet by Starlink. For many travellers, a reliable inflight internet connection is increasingly important. Starlink will bring fast, satellite-based internet on board in a significant expansion of our inflight digital offering. Thanks to higher bandwidth and speed, Cloud-based working and other high-speed applications will become the new standard in the air.

This step will further enhance the Premium travel experience on board SWISS flights in the long term. The service will be free of charge for all status customers and Travel ID users – across all classes of travel. Equipping the fleet will take some time as the aircraft will be upgraded while still in service. The entire fleet of the Lufthansa Group should be equipped with the new internet service by the end of 2029. Exactly when the new facilities will become available on which SWISS aircraft is still part of the ongoing planning process. More information will follow in the course of 2026.
