Zurich Insurance Group has withdrawn a commitment to validate its climate targets with the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi), a spokesperson has confirmed to Responsible Investor.
A statement provided by the insurer said it has “decided not to pursue” validation for long-term net-zero targets under SBTi’s newly issued Financial Institutions Net-Zero (FINZ) Standard.
