CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A former deputy sheriff has pleaded guilty to charges of having sex with a student while serving as a school resource officer almost three years ago.
Isaiah Bradley admitted to felony sex act with a student and felony indecent liberties with a student in court this morning.
The Craven County Sheriff’s Office says the crimes happened while Bradley was an SRO at New Bern High School in 2023.
Bradley last worked for the sheriff’s office in March 2023, according to county personnel records.
The sheriff’s office says Bradley, who was a deputy for two years and a month, was then fired from his job when the investigation began.
Scott Thomas, who was the district attorney at the time, said the victim was 16 years old when the offenses first began in August 2022.
As a result of his guilty plea, the court has ordered Bradley to register as a sex offender and be placed on probation.
