Nicolai and Rasmus Højgaard have committed to play in the upcoming Zurich Classic, tournament officials announced Thursday.

The twin brothers from Denmark were runners-up to the team of Ben Griffin and Andrew Novak in last year’s Zurich. Nicolai and Rasmus Højgaard are ranked Nos. 47 and 53, respectively, in the latest World Golf Rankings.

“Both Rasmus and Nicolai have international experience in team play, and they finished second here last year,” said Steve Worthy, the CEO of the Fore!Kids Foundation, which operates the tournament for the PGA Tour. “They know how to win, as each has multiple victories on the DP World Tour.”

The Højgaard twins will be among the favorites in the field of 72 two-man teams at this year’s Zurich, will be played April 23-26 at the TPC of Louisiana.

Both have extensive experience in team play and competed on winning European Ryder Cup teams. Rasmus was a member of the 2025 European Ryder Cup team that defeated the Americans at Bethpage Black last September. Nicolai played on the victorious 2023 European Ryder Cup team.

In their careers, the Højgaard brothers have garnered nine international titles between them, five for Rasmus and four for Nicolai. They are the first brothers in the history of the DP World Tour to win titles on consecutive weeks and became the first twins to compete in The Open Championship in 2023.

They are also the first set of twins to play together in the Masters and the first brothers to compete there since Eduardo and Francesco Molinari played together in 2012. Nicolai received a special invitation, and Rasmus qualified via the top 50 on the 2024 year-end Official World Golf Ranking.

Rasmus became the first player born in the 21st century to graduate from the European Tour Qualifying School. He claimed his first European title right after that, winning the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in his fourth start at 18 years and 271 days old.

His five international titles include the European Masters in 2021 and the Amgen Irish Open in 2024. His Irish Open victory moved him into the top 10 of the DP World Tour, earning his PGA Tour card. Playing parttime on the PGA Tour in 2022, he scored two top-10 finishes, with a sixth in the Corales Puntacana Championship and a tie for tenth in the Genesis Scottish Open.

His best finish this season was a tie for ninth in the Cognizant Classic. In addition to his second place in the Zurich Classic last year, he also posted a tie for third in the Sanderson Farms Championship and a tie for 12th in the WM Phoenix Open in 2025.

A week after Rasmus’s third European victory, his brother Nicolai took his own first title at the Italian Open, after birdieing the final hole to finish one stroke ahead of Tommy Fleetwood.

This season Nicolai has posted a tie for third in the WM Phoenix and a tie for sixth at the Cognizant Classic. In only six starts, he has four top 25 finishes.

Last season, he tied for fourth in the Genesis Scottish Open then went on the next week to tie for 14th in The Open Championship. Earlier in 2025, he took eighth alone in the Mexico Open.
